CSC-Caraga chief encourages students to take SC eligibility examination

BUTUAN CITY, July 28 (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Caraga announced on Friday that application for the CS eligibility examination is still open and will end on August 30, 2013.

In a radio interview over Power FM at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga regional office here, CSC-Caraga Regional Director Adams Torres encouraged students to take the exam and be able to work in the government service.

“We are calling on the students ages 18 years old and above to take the Civil Service eligibility examination on October 13, 2013. Last filing for said exam is on August 30, 2013 at any CSC regional or field offices,” said Torres.

"An applicant does need not to graduate a 4-year course before he/she can take the exam," Torres said.

It was also learned that those over 60 years old will no longer be allowed to take said exam as per CSC Retirement Program.

Torres also revealed that from a 3 percent passing rate for the CS eligibility exam in the previous years, it has increased into 18 percent. “This would mean that applicants are serious and really working hard to pass the exam and enter the government service” he said. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
