Police beefs up security in Surigao Sur

TANDAG CITY, Aug. 12 (PIA) -- The top police official in Surigao del Sur has ordered police personnel to maximize their presence following the bombings in Cagayan de Oro City, Cotabato City, North Cotabato, and Maguindanao all in Mindanao recently.

According to Police Provincial Director Antonio Taylan, they have intensified the implementation of checkpoints on different areas of the province.

“All the municipal and city police stations are now on red alert status and several checkpoints are already implemented in different strategic places in the province,” Taylan said.

“We need the cooperation of the community. Yung mga bagong mukha na kahina-hinala ang mga galaw, you need to report that to the nearest police station,” Taylan said to officials and representatives from the different government agencies in a meeting conducted in preparation for the forthcoming fiesta celebration in Tandag City on September 10.


Meanwhile, the Critical Incident Management Task Group led by the Police Provincial Office has also conducted a drill Friday morning, August 9 held at the Provincial Sports complex participated by the different stakeholders and NGOs who are members of the group. (FEA/NGBT/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
