Surigao Norte employees join in bloodletting activity

SURIGAO CITY, Aug 2 (PIA) -- Employees of the provincial government of Surigao del Norte and volunteers joined recently in the bloodletting activity.

Around 100 capitol employees donated blood during the said activity held at the Provincial Convention Center, this city.

The activity with the theme, “Every Blood Donor is a Hero” was headed by the Department of Health -Center for Health Development-Caraga and Surigao del Norte Provincial Health Office.

The activity aimed to encourage all capitol employees to donate blood and to address the demand for blood particularly with the incidence of high cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the province.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a severe, potentially deadly infection spread by mosquitoes. (SDR/PIC/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
