60 Surigao Sur PWDs trained in meat processing

SURIGAO DEL SUR, September 13 (PIA) - Some 60 persons with disability (PWDs) in Barangays Tina and Carromata in the interior municipality of San Miguel, this province availed of a  two-day livelihood "meat processing" training.

According to Community Development Information Officer Nancy Elizalde, the activity was part of the basic services extended by the local government unit aimed at reducing poverty incidence in the community.

Elizalde said for Barangay Tina participants, the activity was held on September 10-11 while for Barangay Carromata participants the event was conducted on September 12-13.

"Both barangays were allotted 30 beneficiaries each," said Elizalde.


The activity was spearheaded by the municipal government of San Miguel under Mayor Alvaro Elizalde in partnership with the TESDA-Provincial Office who also served as facilitator of the four-day training. (NGBT/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
