Crime Prevention info drive campaign conducted to SJIT's Criminology Students

BUTUAN CITY, Sept 4 (PIA) -- An information awareness drive on Crime Prevention was successfully conducted to the Criminology students of St. Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT) of this city in collaboration with partner-government agencies led by the National Police Commission (Napolcom).

The info awareness drive is a part of the lined-up activities for this year’s celebration of the 19th National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) that kicked-off on Monday and will end on September 7.

PSupt Romy Palgue, deputy city director of Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) shared its Community Policing Strategies and the good practices of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to inspire the students to become model Police officers in the future.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Caraga Deputy Regional Director Christy Silvan also discussed the unlawful acts and penalties citing the Article II of the Republic Act 9165, an Act Instituting the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On the other hand, the Philippine Army represented by 1Lt Joe Patrick Martinez of 402nd Brigade, also shared the AFP's Internal Peace and Security Plan - the "Bayanihan". "We see to it that our partners in public service bringing with them the different programs and services will have safe entry in the community, especially in conflict-affected areas," he said.
